Fulfill the Sexual Stewardship in Marriage

9:44 a.m.

Marriage is the place where love is developed in his maximum expression. But, when we talk about sexuality, frequently marriages face some challenges.
A common sexual challenge between LDS members, and other communities is the ignorance. The lack of sexual knowledge is even responsible of divorces.
During my life, I have noted that sometimes this ignorance is consequences of believing that talk about sexuality is immoral or it is a discomfort topic to talk for some parents. This lack of communication in topics related with sexuality, sometimes take place in marriage, and couples don’t discuss what they will like in their sexual life.
Inhibition is another challenge for couples. Sometimes, they don’t face this reality because they think that if they suffer inhibition is because they are doing something bad in their relationship, but it is the opposite, inhibition could cause a bad relationship.
Ill will is a common challenge, not just for marriage, but all kind of relations. We need to learn to enjoy while we make others to feel loved.
The last important point to fulfill the sexual stewardship in marriage is fidelity. I like a quote by President Ezra Taft Benson, who said, “What does it mean to love someone with all your heart? It means to love with all your feelings and with all your devotion.” This mean that we don´t have a sexual fidelity commitment, but we have the commitment of being loyal even in our feelings.
To combat pornography, in our home, we have some precautions like Internet filter, and we have a policy of open information. Any member of family can access to our social media, e-mail, or internet history.
